Donna Oberg WALWICA Member Excellence Award
Nominations are currently
being accepted for the 2008 Donna Oberg WALWICA Member Excellence
Award. The criteria for the award include:
- Provides exceptional
service to the Association.
- Demonstrates active involvement
in partner organizations.
- Participates and provides leadership
on policy development, legislation, and/or program development
at the national, state, or local level that contributes to
the advancement of the WIC Program and/or the Association.
- Makes significant contributions to the field of maternal
and child health.
- Is a source of inspiration and an outstanding
role model to members.

WIC Food
Package Changes!
The Interim rule for the new
WIC food packages was released on December 5, 2007.
Overall, this new rule is great news for WIC. The food packages
will be more in line with the 2005 Dietary Guidelines, and will
provide mothers and children more variety of foods including
whole grains and fruits and vegetables.
